Annotations in the model

In this section, you will learn how to specify annotations in a 3D model for the calculation of a part.

In costing24, you can change the geometry and the surface treatment of a selected model in the 3D preview by specifying the annotations in a model. By adjusting the geometry and the surface treatment of the model. the result of the calculation will be changed.

In 3D models, you can generate the following additional geometries by annotation: Threads in drill holes, threads on cylinders and tolerances on drill holes. The annotated threads are shown as a graphic image with a thread structure and identified by an annotation. The annotated tolerances also receive corresponding annotations but will not be identified in the models by a graphic representation.

Furthermore, you can specify the annotation as Unprocessed for any face of the 3D model. The surface of the annotated model remains unprocessed and has therefore an effect on the result of the calculation of the part.

You can add annotations to a 3D model in costing24 in the following way:

Example Description

  1. Right click on a face.
  2. In the context menu, select the required annotation.

  1. Select a face.
  2. In the burger menu, select the required annotation.
