What information does the detailed process report include?

In this section, you will learn which information the detailed process report includes and what it means.

What information does the detailed process report include?

The detailed process report includes information on machines and tools used to machine a part. An identifier is allocated to each object of a part which has to be machined. The identifier clearly identifies the objects. An identifier can have one or more machining processes in order to manufacture the objects of a part.

The detailed process report includes several sections with information on the machining of a part.
  • Overview with several views
  • An isometric representation
  • General information
  • One or more detailed views of the part including the machining processes
  • Tool information

Views

The Views section includes projections of all views of a part. The objects to be machined are highlighted in red in the views, such as a face. The intensity of the red highlights equates to the depth (Z-coordinate) of the face in the view. You can click on the views which contain objects to be machined. costing24 will then display the detailed view. For views which do not contain objects to be machined, detailed views cannot be displayed.

ISO

The ISO section includes an isometric representation of a part. You can open the 3D preview by clicking on the isometric representation of a part.

General information

The General information section includes information on how many processing objects a part consists of and how many tools and machines are required for manufacturing.

Detailed views

The detailed views include a view with the identifiers of the objects to be machined and a table of the planned processing steps for this view. Only detailed views in which processing is performed will be displayed. The views are marked with their perspective, e.g. View TOP. The identifier of the object to be machined corresponds to the syntax <machining direction>-<machining plane>-<consecutive number within a direction and plane.>, e.g. 1-0-0. Each processing step includes detailed information on the processing steps. You can click on an identifier of the object to be identified in the detailed view. The processing steps are marked in the table. You can click on a processing step in the table. The identifier of the objects to be machined are marked with a red dot in the detailed view.

Tool information

The Tool information section includes information on the machines and which tools are used and the objects which are processed by the tools. In this table, you can click on the Objects column on the object name. A clicked object will be marked in the corresponding view of the process report and related parts.
